President Donald Trump has criticized
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
for stating that Ukraine will not legally
recognize the occupation of Crimea.
Trump claims that this statement
will prolong the war and hinder
peace negotiations with Russia.
He suggests that Ukraine should
have fought for Crimea when it was
""handed over to Russia without a
shot being fired"" eleven years ago."
"Cote d'Ivoire
Tidjane Thiam, Côte d'Ivoire's main
opposition leader, has been barred
from running for the presidency
after a court ruled he gave up his
Côte d'Ivoire nationality when he
acquired French citizenship in 1987.
Thiam has vowed to fight the
decision, and his party plans to
take the case to the ECOWAS court."
"Iran
Iran's Foreign Ministry has criticized
the US for imposing new sanctions
on its oil network, calling it
a sign of Washington's ""hostile
approach"" ahead of nuclear talks.
The move is seen as contradictory to the
US demand for dialogue and negotiation."

Jordanian authorities have outlawed the
Muslim Brotherhood, a Hamas ally and the
country's largest opposition group, due
to its involvement in a sabotage plot.
The decision will take immediate
effect, and the group's
assets have been confiscated.
This move comes after 16 members of
the group were arrested last week
for plotting attacks on targets in
Jordan using rockets and drones."

The Myanmar military junta has extended
its unilateral ceasefire for one more
week, from April 23 to April 30, despite

The ceasefire declaration comes
after a devastating 7.7-magnitude
earthquake struck Myanmar on 28 March."

On Tuesday, a deserter from the
Niger Republic Armed Forces who
reportedly joined the Boko Haram
terrorist group surrendered to
local authorities in the Gueskerour
commune, of Kindjandi, Diffa Region
of southeastern part of the country.
The individual deserted his
post in Bosso on March 8."
"Russia
Russia's Foreign Ministry has
strongly objected to Japan's intention
to use frozen Russian assets to
provide financial aid to Ukraine.
The ministry warned that this move could
lead to severe retaliatory measures,
including targeting Japan's sensitive
interests, and claimed that Japan
is complicit in Ukraine's actions."
"Uganda
The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF)
of Uganda, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba,
met with CODECO (Cooperative for the
Development of the Congo) militia group
leaders in Entebbe on April 22, 2025.
The meeting aimed to promote lasting
peace and stability in Eastern Congo.
CODECO leaders, including Mr Dunji
Kulukpa Etienne, Vice President of the
Lendu Community in Eastern DRC, expressed
regret over clashes with the Uganda
Peoples' Defence Forces (UPDF) and issued
a formal apology for recent attacks."
"United States
The US Coast Guard intercepted a
cabin cruiser 25 miles off the coast
of Oceanside, taking 19 suspected
undocumented immigrants into custody.
The group, consisting of 18 men and one
woman claiming Mexican nationality, was
transferred to the custody of the U.S.
Border Patrol after a preliminary
medical evaluation found
no major medical concerns."
"West Bank
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud
Abbas has called on Hamas to end the
war and hand over control of the Gaza
Strip to the Palestinian Authority.
In a televised speech, Abbas demanded
that Hamas return American hostages
and surrender their weapons to the
Palestinian Authority, and urged them
to transform into a political party
to negotiate with the Palestinian
Authority instead of the US.
Abbas also condemned Israel's
actions during the war, citing the
destruction of homes and families in
the Gaza Strip, and emphasized the
need for a peaceful resolution based
on ending the Israeli occupation and
establishing a Palestinian state."

On Tuesday, the Afghan Ministry of
National Defense announced the discovery
of a weapons and ammunition cache in
the eastern region of the country.
According to intelligence reports,
personnel from the 201st Khalid bin Walid
Army Corps carried out multiple operations
in various areas of the east zone,
recovering a range of weaponry, including
PK machine guns, Kalashnikov rifles,
M16s, M4s, pistols, grenades, and rockets.
Additionally, two missile systems,
seven hand grenades, and 640 rounds
of ammunition for both light and
heavy weapons were also found."

On Tuesday, Border Security Forces
seized arms, ammunition, explosives,
hand grenades with accessories, and
a considerable amount of narcotics
in the border area of the Amritsar
district near the village of Bhallarwal.
The troops conducted a thorough
search operation in the suspected
area based on precise information
from the BSF intelligence wing.
The weapons cache included two
pistols along with four magazines,
50 live rounds, two hand grenades
with accessories, explosive material
with IED components, a remote
device, and two electric detonators."
"Afghanistan
The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) has
claimed responsibility for an attack on
Taliban forces near the entrance gate
of the Sixth Police District in Kunduz
City, resulting in the deaths of two
Taliban members and wounding two others.
According to the AFF, the attack occurred
when fighters ambushed a military
vehicle transporting Taliban personnel.
The Taliban has not issued
a response to the incident."

On Wednesday, the Indian Army successfully
intercepted and killed two Pakistani
terrorists attempting to infiltrate
through the Line of Control (LoC) in
the general area of Sarjeevan at Uri
Nala, Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir.
The operation, known as Operation
Tikka, resulted in the recovery of
two AK rifles, one pistol, and an
Improvised Explosive Device (IED)."
"India
On Tuesday, a Kangleipak Communist Party
(KCP-PWG) militant leader from Manipur,
identified as Khundongbam Herojit Meitei,
was arrested from his hideout in the
Byrnihat area of the Ri-Bhoi district.
Meitei is a self-styled finance secretary
of the outlawed KCP-PWG and was accused of
collecting money on behalf of the outfit."
"Iran
Tanzania has confirmed that the two
fuel tankers, Sea Ranger and Salama,
were not registered under its flag
when they were detained by Iran's
Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).
The vessels were intercepted on Tuesday,
April 22, near Farsi Island in the
Persian Gulf as they were allegedly trying
to leave Iranian territorial waters.
This incident has garnered international
attention, prompting Tanzania to
distance itself from the matter."

A ballistic missile fired from
Yemen towards northern Israel
was likely intercepted by air
defenses, according to the military.
While there were no direct injuries,
paramedics are treating people who
were injured while seeking shelter.

An unexploded bomb was discovered
in southern Israel, believed to
have been left by Hamas terrorists
during the October 7, 2023, attack.
The bomb was found in a
suspicious-looking bag near Netivot
and is currently being examined and
neutralized by a police bomb squad.
"Nigeria
Suspected armed herders attacked the Afia
community in the Ukum Local Government
Area, Benue State, resulting in at
least 11 deaths and several injuries.
The traditional ruler, Iyorkyaa Kaave,
appealed to the Federal Government to
intervene, stating that the herders
involved in the recent attacks
are different from those who have
historically lived in the community."

On Monday, four unarmed individuals
boarded a Marshall Islands-flagged
chemical tanker in the Gulf of
Guinea, approximately 100 nautical
miles southwest of Brass, Nigeria.
The individuals stayed on board
for four hours, stealing crew
belongings and vessel property.
After the individuals had
disembarked, the tanker was
observed continuing on its original
planned route to Douala, Cameroon."

On Wednesday, unidentified gunmen riding
a motorcycle ambushed and killed two
Pakistani police officers while protecting
a polio vaccination team in the Teeri
area of Mastung district in Balochistan.
It was the second fatal attack on such
teams since the nationwide inoculation
drive began earlier this week.
Such attacks are routinely carried
out by militant outfits who view
the vaccination campaigns with
suspicion, often accusing them of
being cover operations for espionage."

Pakistani forces killed six
Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists
during a clash in the Mir Ali area of
North Waziristan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Troops recovered a large number of
weapons, ammunition, and explosives
from the militants' hideouts."
"Singapore
Four individuals armed with knives
boarded a Marshall Island-flagged
bulk carrier while it was transiting
eastbound through the Philip Channel.
The vessel continued on its original
planned route after being boarded."
"Syria
Unidentified gunmen threw a hand
grenade at a house on 18th Street
in Homs, resulting in the deaths of
a man, his wife, and his brother.
A few hours later, two gunmen on
a motorcycle attacked an Alawite
man and woman at the Al-Waleed
suburb junction, killing the man
and severely injuring the woman."

A civilian from the Alawite sect
was killed in a targeted attack by
a group of four individuals wearing
military uniforms in Homs city.
The attackers entered the victim's
plumbing supply shop, struck him on the
head with a rifle, and fled the scene
while chanting sectarian slogans, leaving
residents in a state of panic and fear."
"Gaza Strip
Israeli airstrikes in Gaza on April
23, 2025, resulted in the deaths of
at least 20 people, including 10 at a
school sheltering displaced families.
The Yaffa School in Gaza City was
hit, causing fires and destruction,
while another airstrike damaged
the intensive care unit at the
Durra Children's Hospital."

Indian security forces launched
a counter-infiltration operation
in response to intelligence about
Pakistani terrorists in the Uri sector.
After tracking the terrorists' movement
near the Line of Control (LOC),
the forces ambushed and neutralized
two terrorists, recovering two AK
rifles, one pistol, magazines, and
large quantities of ammunition.
The Jammu and Kashmir police are working
to identify the terrorists, and a 10kg
IED was also recovered from the area."
"Iraq
A drone carrying explosives was
downed by the Popular Mobilization
Forces (PMF) in western Iraq.
The device detonated while being
secured, injuring five PMF personnel.
The area has been sealed off, and
an investigation is underway to
determine the origin of the drone."

Junta air and artillery strikes
on Kawkareik Township reportedly
killed at least 10 civilians and

Police and counter-terrorism
forces killed 10 Tehrik-i-Taliban
Pakistan (TTP) terrorists during
an operation in Punjab Province."
"Russia
A UAV attack was reported in Tatarstan,
Russia, targeting a facility that
manufactures kamikaze drones.
Russian air defenses allegedly
intercepted and destroyed the drone
near Yelabuga, where the Alabuga
special economic zone hosts a
factory for Shahed drone production."
"South Sudan
In Juba, over 307 soldiers from the
Sudan Peopleâs Liberation Army-In
Opposition (SPLA-IO), led by First
Vice President Riek Machar, have
switched allegiance to the South
Sudan Peopleâs Defense Forces (SSPDF).
This includes 259 National Security
Service officers from Western
Equatoria State and 48 soldiers
from Central Equatoria State."

On Tuesday, the opposition in South Sudan
accused government forces of assaulting
one of its military sites in Central
Equatoria State, further straining
their delicate power-sharing agreement.
Opposition party spokesman Lam Paul
Gabriel reported on Facebook, âThe SSPDF
(South Sudan Peopleâs Defence Forces)
has attacked the Panyume cantonment site
from multiple directions this morning.â
He noted that clashes were
still occurring on Wednesday."
"South Sudan
South Sudan's main armed opposition,
the Sudan People's Liberation
Army in Opposition (SPLA-IO), led
by detained First Vice President
Riek Machar, has urged civilians
to leave at least four counties in
Central Equatoria, citing attacks
by South Sudan's government forces.
The attacks on the SPLA-IO troops
took place on Tuesday morning in
Yaribe and Yondu, intending to advance
on a cantonment site in Panyume
Payam, Central Equatoria State.
SPLA-IO forces reportedly repulsed the
attacks, after which South Sudanese
forces deployed airstrikes on civilians
in the region, destroying civilian
property and public buildings in Panyume."
"Sudan
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are
accused of impeding civilian evacuation in
southern Omdurman, blocking residents from
accessing markets and basic necessities.
On Tuesday, the Al-Salha Resistance
Committees claimed that RSF
fighters have taken up positions in
residential neighborhoods, leading to
killings, kidnappings, and looting.
Civilians are facing acute food
and medicine shortages due to the
restrictions, with local reports
describing families surviving
on minimal resources and going
days without proper meals."
"Sudan
The paramilitary Rapid Support
Forces (RSF) have killed at least
47 civilians in El-Fasher, Sudan,
through artillery shelling.
A Sudanese military statement on Tuesday
indicated that the rebel group continued
its ""indiscriminate bombardment"" of the
city, firing approximately 250 artillery
shells into the city's neighborhoods.
Sudanese forces claimed it destroyed
an RSF artillery platform in El-Fasher.
The RSF has not commented on the attacks."
"Taiwan
Taiwan tracked 29 Chinese military
aircraft, six naval vessels,
and two official ships around
its country between 6 a.m.
on Tuesday and 6 a.m.
on Wednesday.
25 aircraft crossed the Taiwan
Strait median line in the countryâs
northern, southwestern, and eastern
Air Defense Identification Zones."

A Russian drone struck an apartment
building in Kharkiv's Industrialnyi
district, targeting the technical floor.
According to Kharkiv Mayor
Ihor Terekhov, no casualties
have been reported as of now.
This attack follows a series of drone
strikes in Kharkiv on April 22 and 23,
causing explosions across the city."

Russian forces have launched
multiple attacks on Kherson,
injuring a total of four civilians.
A drone attack in the Dniprovskyi
district at approximately 2:00 p.m.
injured a 67-year-old man and a
32-year-old woman with explosive injuries.
Shortly after, artillery fire
targeted the same district, injuring
a 39-year-old man with explosive
trauma, shoulder, and leg wounds.
Additionally, a Russian drone strike
on a civilian car injured a 59-year-old
man, and shelling of residential areas
from the temporarily occupied left
bank injured a 78-year-old woman with
blast trauma and shrapnel wounds."

Russian forces killed four residents of
the Donetsk region, including three in
Myrnohrad and one in Novoekonomichne.
Seven people were also wounded."

Russian forces targeted numerous
areas in the Kherson region, injuring
12 people, including a child.
The attacks resulted in damage
to several buildings, private
houses, an ambulance, and vehicles.

a cyberattack that compromised customer
USIM data between Saturday and Sunday.
The company's IT team quickly
isolated the affected endpoints and
prevented more data from being stolen.
In the morning, SK Telecom informed the

investigation to clarify the circumstances
and identify what was taken."
"United Kingdom
On Tuesday, UK retailer Marks & Spencer
(M&S), headquartered in London,
reported a cyber attack on its systems.
The attack affected contactless
payments and online click-and-collect
services during the Easter Bank Holiday.
M&S stated it enlisted a third-party
cyber forensics firm to manage the attack.
It is taking further actions to
protect its network and ensure it
can maintain its customer services."
"Sri Lanka
A clash between two groups of inmates
at the Matara Prison in Sri Lanka
has been brought under control
with the help of the Police Special
Task Force (STF) and tear gas.
The disturbance began when
prison authorities attempted to
transfer an inmate, prompting
a protest from other inmates.
Prison officials fired warning
shots into the air to restore
order, and investigations into
the incident are ongoing."

A 25-year-old miner, Didmus Ogutu, died
after a gold mine collapsed due to heavy
rains in Macalder, Nyatike Sub-county.
Another miner, Kingslay Otieno,
was rescued with serious injuries
and is receiving treatment.
Local authorities have warned
miners to suspend operations due to
hazardous conditions in the region."
"Nigeria
On Tuesday, an accidental discharge
of a locally made Dane gun killed
two children and wounded seven other
people in Abakpa, Kaduna State."
"Syria
At least three people have been
killed and one injured in separate
explosions of landmines left over from
the war in the Manbij countryside.
Two women and a man died in one
explosion, while an 8-year-old
child was injured in another."
"Syria
Multiple landmine explosions
have occurred in various areas of
Syria, resulting in casualties.
In the eastern Palmyra
countryside, a woman was killed
in a car carrying civilians.
In the Homs countryside, a
driver was injured in a landmine
explosion on a digging vehicle.
Additionally, three children were injured,
one severely, in a landmine explosion
in the Al-Siyal area in Al-Bokamal
countryside in eastern Deir Ezzor."
