Thousands continue to flee the Zamzam Camp in Sudan

Sunday, we collected 55 events,
including ongoing attacks on the

Zamzam camp and El-Fasher area
in Sudan, so let's get started.

Thousands of displaced people are
arriving in Tawila camp after fleeing

the paramilitary offensive on Zamzam
camp, which the UN says killed hundreds,

including children and aid workers.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacked
Zamzam, forcing thousands to move

to nearby communities without aid.

The UN migration agency reports
that 60,000 to 80,000 families

were displaced in the first two
days following the assault."

"Syria

A security campaign was carried out
in the village of Al-Mukhtariyah

in northern Homs, resulting in the
arrest of 18 people, including a

former regime officer and two members
of the National Defence Forces.

The arrests are linked to alleged
involvement in mass killings

during the Syrian Revolution.

One civilian was also reported to
have been killed during the campaign."

"Syria

Recent artillery shelling by the RSF in
El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur,

has resulted in the deaths of seven
civilians and injuries to three others.

The conflict has caused widespread
displacement, with over 15 million

people affected, and an estimated death
toll ranging from 20,000 to 130,000

people, according to UN figures and
US scholar research, respectively."

"Taiwan

Taiwan tracked one Chinese military
aircraft, six naval vessels,

and three official ships around
its country, between 6 a.m.

on Saturday and 6 a.m.

on Sunday.

The one aircraft crossed the Taiwan
Strait median line and entered

the country’s southwestern air
defense identification zone."

"Ukraine

A house in Kostiantynivka was destroyed
in a Russian airstrike, resulting

in the deaths of a man and a woman.

Rescuers and emergency responders were
forced to suspend their work multiple

times due to repeated Russian fire."

"Ukraine

The Russian army conducted air
strikes on the residential sector

of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region.

A total of five people were injured in
the attack, with a fire breaking out

in one of the households, engulfing a
residential building and outbuildings.

A fire and rescue unit and a medical
team were involved in eliminating the

consequences of the Russian strike."

"Ukraine

Russian troops attacked an evacuation
vehicle belonging to the Proliska

humanitarian mission with FPV drones
in the Donetsk region, despite

Russia's announced ""ceasefire"".

The attack, which involved a
shrapnel charge and multiple drones,

injured two people, including a
staff member and a civilian woman,

who are now in the hospital.

The humanitarian mission was attempting
to evacuate people from the village

of Zoria near Kostiantynivka,
highlighting the ongoing risks to

civilians in the conflict zone."

"Ukraine

Ukrainian forces claimed to have
killed or wounded 950 Russian

soldiers over the past day.

Over 230 pieces of military equipment
were destroyed in the fighting."

"Ukraine

In Kupiansk, multiple rocket
launchers were fired, injuring three

people, including a 62-year-old
woman who suffered burns.

A guided aerial bomb also struck the
town, damaging three private houses.

Additionally, shelling in the
Novoplatonivka village burned 4.5

hectares of forest litter.

Ukrainian defense forces repelled
Russian assaults in the Kupiansk sector,

while Russian forces were unsuccessful
in advancing in the Kharkiv sector.

Wildfires have also broken out in the
Kharkiv region, including a 10-hectare

fire in the Balakliya forestry."

"Ukraine

Russian shelling continued in the
Kherson region, despite Russia's

announcement of a ceasefire during Easter.

According to Oleksandr Prokudin, the
head of the Kherson Regional Military

Administration, multiple incidents were
reported, including a high-rise building

catching fire in the Dniprovsky district
of Kherson, a civilian car being hit

by a drone in Urozhayne, and a drone
attack on a village damaging houses."

"Ukraine

On April 19, Russian forces launched
attacks on numerous settlements in the

Kherson region, resulting in the death of
one person and injuries to four others.

The attacks damaged four apartment
buildings, 19 private homes, and

various infrastructure, including
gas pipelines and private vehicles.

The affected settlements include
Kherson, Novoraisk, and many others."

"Ukraine

Russian shelling in the Donetsk
region over the past day has

caused significant destruction,
damaging 34 civilian structures.

The affected areas include six
settlements: Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk,

Lyman, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, and Piddubne.

The attacks resulted in the deaths of
two civilians, injuries to six others,

and the destruction of residential
buildings, administrative buildings,

and non-residential structures."

"Ukraine

The Russian army fired on
Komyshany in the Kherson region,

injuring a 47-year-old man.

He was taken to the hospital with
an explosive injury and shrapnel

wounds to the abdominal cavity."

"Yemen

The US military has launched a new wave
of airstrikes in Yemen, resulting in at

least three deaths and four injuries.

The strikes targeted various locations,
including the capital city Sanaa and

its outskirts, as well as Hodeidah
Airport and Navy Base in western Yemen.

The attacks also hit Houthi positions
in Marib and Amran provinces, and come

just two days after a deadly US bombing
on Ras Isa fuel port in Hodeidah, which

killed 80 people and wounded 150 others.

The escalation in airstrikes
highlights growing tensions between

the US and Houthi forces in Yemen."

"Israel

Families of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza
gathered near the border to call out for

their loved ones and demand their release.

They urged a single deal to free
all hostages, rather than separate

stages, and criticized the government
and Prime Minister Benjamin

Netanyahu for the ongoing situation.

Yehuda Cohen, father of a captive
soldier, delivered a scathing speech,

blaming Netanyahu for his son's captivity
and calling for his resignation."

"Morocco

More than 1,000 people protested in
Tangier, Morocco, against the planned

docking of a Maersk vessel carrying
spare parts for F-35 warplanes

from the United States to Israel.

The protesters called for the ship to
be banned, the severing of diplomatic

relations between Morocco and Israel,
and an end to the Israeli war on Gaza.

The North African kingdom has officially
called for a halt to the Israeli

war on Gaza, but has not discussed
reversing normalization with Israel."

"Pakistan

Tens of thousands of people gathered
in Islamabad and Karachi, Pakistan's

capital and commercial capital,
respectively, to show support for

Palestinians in the face of Israel's
latest military offensive on Gaza.

The protests, organized by Jamaat-e-Islami
and the Central Muslim League, were

held despite authorities blocking
access to the US Embassy in Islamabad.

The rallies called for an end to
Israeli aggression and criticized

the US for its support of Israel."

"Benin

Nusrat ul-Islam wa Al-Muslimin (JNIM)
claimed last Thursday, April 17,

that it killed at least 70 Benin
troops during attacks on two military

posts in Benin’s northeastern Kandi
province in the Alibori department."

"Ecuador

Ecuador has raised its alert level due to
an alleged assassination plot targeting

recently reelected President Daniel Noboa,
according to the government on Saturday.

A military intelligence report revealed
that assassins entered Ecuador from Mexico

and other nations, intending to execute
""terrorist attacks"" against Noboa,

which was circulated on social media."

"India

In the last 48 hours, nine
members of proscribed outfits in

Manipur's Imphal valley districts
have been arrested by the police.

The arrested individuals are
allegedly involved in extortion

and are affiliated with various
groups, including the United National

Liberation Front, Kangleipak Communist
Party, and Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup."

"India

Punjab counter-terrorism forces busted two
cross-border ISI-backed terror modules and

arrested 13 operatives of the terrorist
outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI)

during operations in Jalandhar area.

Troops recovered two rocket-propelled
grenades (RPGs), including

a launcher, two IEDs (2.5

kg each), two hand grenades with
detonators, two kg RDX with remote

control, five pistols (Beretta
and Glock), six magazines, 44 live

cartridges and a wireless set, and
three vehicles during the operations."

"Nigeria

An armed assault in Nigeria’s
Benue State has resulted in at

least 56 deaths on Saturday.

The assault is viewed as one
of the most lethal incidents

in the area in recent months.

While early reports suggested that 17
individuals lost their lives, the number

of fatalities increased significantly
as more bodies were discovered and

local sources offered updated details.

Authorities are still probing the
complete scope of the violence and the

identities of those who were killed.

No group has claimed
responsibility for the attack."

"Philippines

On Sunday, government forces captured
two suspected New People’s Army (NPA)

rebels after a running gun battle in
Barangay Dicamay II, Jones, Isabela.

Troops recovered two M-16 rifles
and ammunition from the militants."

"Somalia

From Friday to Saturday, Puntland
security forces successfully prevented

a significant ISIS suicide bombing
in the Togga Miraale area, resulting

in the deaths of eight attackers.

Officials confirmed that two additional
assailants detonated their explosives

before reaching their intended targets.

Additionally, ten Puntland soldiers lost
their lives, and 30 others sustained

injuries during the six-hour confrontation
and the subsequent explosions."

"Syria

A headmaster from the Alawite community
was shot and killed by unidentified

gunmen in the Al-Diyabiyah village
in the western countryside of Homs.

The gunmen stormed the civilian's house
and escaped after committing the crime."

"Syria

Members of the General Security
forces have arrested former

regime brigadier Saleh Mohammad
Al-Basis in Deir Ezzor countryside.

He is accused of committing massacres
in Aleppo and was involved in

suppressing a prison rebellion and
executing prisoners in 2013 and 2014."

"Syria

A member of the security service was
killed by unidentified gunmen in his home

in Deir Hassan camps, northern Idlib.

The gunmen stormed his house and
shot him dead in front of his wife."

"Syria

A motorcycle-riding ISIS cell attacked
a civilian vehicle in Al-Azbah town,

northern Deir Ezzor countryside,
resulting in moderate injuries to

an elder from the Al-Akeidat tribe.

The attackers fled the scene,
and the injured elder was taken

to the hospital for treatment."

"West Bank

A Palestinian gunman opened fire on
Israeli troops at a checkpoint near

the Homesh settlement in the West Bank.

The troops returned fire, killing the
attacker, and no soldiers were injured."

"Democratic Republic of Congo

The Democratic Republic of the Congo
(DRC) has suspended the People's

Party for Reconstruction and Democracy
(PPRD), led by former President

Joseph Kabila, accusing him of high
treason for alleged ties to the

Rwandan-backed M23 rebel group.

The move follows Kabila's return to the
country after two years in South Africa,

where he had been living in exile.

The suspension also includes the
seizure of Kabila's assets, and

prosecutors have been instructed to
initiate proceedings against him."

"Afghanistan

The Taliban has bolstered security
measures along the Pak-Afghan

border, particularly at the Torkham
crossing, to prevent ISIS operatives

from infiltrating Afghanistan
disguised as returning migrants.

A specialized security unit has been
deployed to Torkham, led by Sultan

Mofaker, and all returnees are now
subject to biometric registration

and identity verification.

The Taliban has also established
a processing facility, Camp Omari,

to manage the increasing number of
returnees and conduct comprehensive

background checks, but some have
complained of extended stays due to

delays in the verification process."

"Gaza Strip

At least 25 people, including women
and children, have been killed

in Israeli airstrikes across the
Gaza Strip since dawn on Sunday.

The Gaza civil defense agency reports
that 20 people were killed and dozens

more injured in the airstrikes,
while an additional five people were

killed in an Israeli drone strike
on civilians in eastern Rafah.

The exact figures are unverified,
and it's unclear how many combatants

and civilians were affected."

"Iraq

The Iraqi army and Popular Mobilization
Forces (PMF) conducted a large-scale

operation in Saladin province
targeting remnants of ISIS militants.

The operation involved sweeping
and clearance missions,

airstrikes, and the destruction
of ISIS hideouts and safehouses.

The goal is to disrupt the group's
remaining networks and address its limited

but persistent presence in the region."

"Iraq

Turkish warplanes bombed villages in the
Amadiya district of Dohuk Governorate,

despite a ceasefire declared by
the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK)

in response to a call for peace."

"Lebanon

Israeli fighter jets conducted airstrikes
in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah

rocket launchers and infrastructure.

The IDF also killed a Hezbollah
engineering expert in a separate strike,

who was responsible for the group's
engineering activities in the area."

"Lebanon

According to Lebanon's Health Ministry,
an Israeli strike in the country's

south has resulted in the death of
one person and injury to another.

The strike targeted a vehicle in
Kaouthariyet al-Saiyad, located between

the cities of Sidon and Tyre, in a region
where a ceasefire between Israel and

the Hezbollah terror group is in place."

"Lebanon

The Lebanese Army has announced
that it has foiled a planned rocket

attack from Lebanon towards Israel,
the first such incident since a

ceasefire ended over a year ago.

Forces raided an apartment in Sidon,
confiscating rockets and launch pads, and

arrested several individuals involved."

"Myanmar

Between Friday and Saturday, at least
200 civilians fled into Thailand due to

intense fighting and ongoing airstrikes
between insurgents and junta forces

along the border of Karen State."

"Myanmar

Last Thursday, April 17, a junta
airstrike on the village of Ballapa, in

the southern part of Yesagyo Township,
seriously injured three people.

The airstrike destroyed ten homes
and a monastery in the town."

"Myanmar

Last Wednesday, April 16, junta
forces conducted airstrikes and

artillery attacks on the village of
Lake Kya, in Thabeikkyin Township.

While there were no casualties,
the attacks damaged multiple

homes and buildings."

"Myanmar

Last Friday, April 17, a junta
airstrike and shelling on the

village of Yay Twin Kone, Nyaunglebin
Township, killed one civilian."

"Myanmar

Between last Wednesday and Thursday,
April 16-17, junta airstrikes on

the villages of Nat Taung and Thayaw
Pin, Singu Township, killed a woman

and injured 12 other civilians.

The villages are under insurgent control."

"Myanmar

On Saturday, junta forces
conducted airstrikes on the Min

Saw village monastery in Belin
Township, killing two civilians.

The township is under Karen
National Union insurgent control."

"Myanmar

Saturday morning, junta forces conducted
airstrikes on the Arakan Army-held

town of Kyauktaw Township, killing
one civilian and wounding 20 others."

"South Sudan

The South Sudan People's Defence
Forces (SSPDF) have withdrawn from

Ulang County and are advancing towards
Nasir County, Upper Nile State.

This move raises concerns of renewed
clashes with the local White Army.

According to sources, the SSPDF
killed a mentally ill man, several

cattle, and civilians, including two
women and a child, in an airstrike."

"South Africa

On Saturday, April 19, 2025, a
security guard was fatally shot at

close range with an AK-47 at Riverside
Mall in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.

A suspect, identified as a 35-year-old
Mozambican, was arrested and is being

held in a hospital under police guard.

The suspect faces charges of murder,
attempted murder, and possession of

an illegal firearm with ammunition.

A search is underway for two other
suspects who were with the arrested

individual during the incident."

"Iran

A training helicopter crashed near
Qazvin Airport in Iran around 9:00 AM.

Both the pilot and co-pilot were
injured, but a medical source reported

they were rescued and transferred
to the hospital for treatment.

The cause of the crash is
currently under investigation."

"Lebanon

A munitions blast in south Lebanon's
Nabatiyeh district killed an

army officer and two soldiers,
injuring several civilians.

The blast occurred while ammunition
was being transported in an army

vehicle, according to an army statement.

The incident is being investigated,
and the area has been cordoned off.

This is the third fatal explosion
in the region in recent days,

following a November truce deal
between Lebanon and Israel."

"Nigeria

A three-storey building collapsed on
Saturday morning in Ojodu Berger, Lagos,

resulting in three fatalities and an
unspecified number of people trapped.

The ground floor of the building,
occupied by a restaurant,

was the only part in use."

"Syria

A child was killed and another was injured
in an explosion of a landmine in the

Al-Bokamal Desert, eastern Deir Ezzor."

"Syria

A civilian was killed in the explosion
of a landmine in the Al-Mahkan Desert,

eastern Deir Ezzor, an area under
the control of the new government."

"Syria

An old landmine near the Teshreen
Dam in eastern Aleppo killed a

militiaman from the National Army.

The area has seen intense military
operations between Turkish-backed

factions and the Syrian Democratic
Forces, resulting in numerous casualties."

"Syria

A man was killed, and another man
and a child were injured, after being

hit by shrapnel from a metal object
exploding in a scrap collection in Idlib.

In another incident, a man and his child
were injured by a landmine explosion

while driving in the Hama countryside."

"United States

A plane crash occurred near Deer Valley
Airport in north Phoenix on April 19.

The pilot, who suffered minor injuries,
was able to walk away from the scene.

According to the FAA, the pilot reported
an engine issue shortly before the crash.

Fortunately, the incident did not
impact operations at the airport."

"United States

A small plane, a Cessna 180 single-engine
aircraft, crashed in central Illinois on

Saturday morning, killing four people.

The plane struck power lines and
crashed into a field in Coles County,

approximately 200 miles south of Chicago.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
and National Transportation Safety Board

(NTSB) are investigating the incident.

The road where the crash occurred
remains closed until further notice.

A preliminary report on the
investigation is expected to

be released within 30 days."
