Israel cuts off electricity in Gaza, as talks between the US and Hamas confirmed

According to Hamas political adviser
Taher Al-Nono, the US has held

several secret meetings with Hamas
leaders, including envoy Adam Boehler.

This move has reportedly angered
Israel, as the US did not obtain

consent from the Israeli government
before meeting with Hamas."

"Gaza Strip

Energy Minister Eli Cohen has instructed
the Israel Electric Corporation to

immediately cut off the supply of
electricity to the Gaza Strip in an

effort to pressure Hamas to release
the 59 hostages held in the enclave.

This move follows Israel's decision
to halt the entry of goods into

Gaza and comes as part of a broader
strategy to increase pressure on

Hamas in hostage release talks."

"Iran

Iran's UN mission has stated that the
country would consider negotiations

with the US if the goal of talks is to
address concerns about the potential

militarization of its nuclear program.

However, Iran emphasizes that it
will not agree to talks aimed at

dismantling its nuclear program, which
it claims is for peaceful purposes."

"Myanmar

The head of Myanmar's military
government announced that the country

will hold a national election in
December 2025 or January 2026.

Critics argue that this announcement
is a sham designed to maintain the

junta's power through proxy parties.

This would be the first election
since the military junta's 2021

coup, during which they arrested and
imprisoned democratically elected

leader Aung San Sung Kyi and made
unsubstantiated claims of fraud

in the previous year's elections."

"South Sudan

The United States has ordered
its non-emergency government

personnel in South Sudan to
leave due to security concerns.

The State Department cited ongoing armed
conflict, including fighting between

various political and ethnic groups,
and the availability of weapons to the

population as reasons for the order.

The United Nations rights agency also
warned that increased violence and

political friction in South Sudan
threaten the fragile peace process."

"Syria

Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa has
called for peace and national unity

in a speech delivered from a mosque
in Damascus, following days of

clashes that have killed over 1,000
people, mostly Alawite civilians.

He urged the preservation of unity
and civil peace, expressing hope for a

peaceful coexistence in the country."

"Syria

The US Secretary of State, Marco
Rubio, has condemned the recent

massacres of minority groups in
western Syria, including Christians,

Druze, Alawites, and Kurds.

Rubio called for the interim
administration in Syria to hold

the perpetrators accountable.

The violence erupted after gunmen loyal
to ousted leader Bashar al-Assad attacked

new security forces, resulting in the
deaths of at least 745 Alawite civilians

in Latakia and Tartus provinces."

"United States

The United States has informed its NATO
allies that it will not participate

in military exercises in Europe beyond
those already scheduled for this year.

This move is part of a broader shift
away from the alliance, driven by

President Trump's criticism of NATO
countries for not meeting the goal

of spending 2% of GDP on defense."

"India

In a series of joint operations
spanning six districts of Manipur,

including mountainous and valley
regions, the Army and other Central

and state forces recovered 25 weapons,
improvised explosive devices (IEDs),

several grenades, a large cache of
ammunition, and other war materiel.

Additionally, security forces
destroyed multiple illegal

bunkers in Kangpokpi district."

"Colombia

On Saturday, Revolutionary Armed
Forces of Colombia (FARC) insurgents

released 28 police officers and one
soldier being held hostage in the

community of La Hacienda, Cauca Region.

The militants captured the individuals
during a gun battle in the region."

"India

On Sunday, security forces recovered
and defused a Naxal/Maoist IED in

the Lajamgudi and Jhingaburu forest
areas of the West Singhbhum district."

"Indonesia

The Cartenz Peace Operation Task
Force, in collaboration with the Papua

Regional Police, arrested a former
Indonesian Military (TNI) soldier as

he was smuggling weapons and ammunition
for the West Papua National Liberation

Army (TPNPB-OPM) in the Keerom Regency.

According to the individual,
he had obtained the weapons,

valued at approximately Rp1.3

billion, outside of Papua,
specifically from Surabaya.

The seized weapons were destined for
delivery to Puncak Jaya, Central Papua."

"Iran

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)
has dismantled two terrorist teams in

Sistan-and-Baluchestan province, southeast
Iran, arresting nine armed terrorists

during an intricate surveillance
operation carried out on Saturday.

Troops seized a sizable
amount of ammunition as well."

"Israel

A suspected car bomb detonated on the
Ayalon Highway in southern Tel Aviv,

injuring two people in their mid-30s.

The blast occurred near the La
Guardia interchange, causing

significant damage to several cars
and shutting down the highway.

One victim is in moderate condition,
while the other has light injuries."

"Pakistan

Punjab Police successfully thwarted
another major terrorist attack

on the Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
(KP) border in Dera Ghazi Khan

early on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

A group of 20 to 25 heavily armed
militants launched an assault on

the Lakhani checkpoint using rocket
launchers and other heavy weapons.

Still, police forces responded swiftly
with advanced tactics, including thermal

imaging and machine guns, preventing the
attackers from reaching the checkpoint."

"Pakistan

Sunday morning, at least four Pakistani
paramilitary troops were killed,

and seven others were injured in a
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist

attack on a security checkpoint in Kurram
district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The attack occurred on the border
with Afghanistan, an area that has

seen a recent rise in violence."

"Philippines

On Saturday, government troops killed
two New People's Army (NPA) rebels

during a clash with seven militants in
Hacienda Paraiso, Barangay Caduha-an,

Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

Troops recovered firearms,
grenades, and subversive

documents from the dead rebels."

"Philippines

Last Tuesday, government forces killed
a communist rebel during a 30-minute

clash in Sitio Banal, Barangay Magsaysay.

Troops recovered firearms and subversive
documents from the dead militant."

"Spain

Spanish authorities have arrested
10 Pakistani nationals in a joint

operation targeting an alleged extremist
network involved in inciting violence.

The arrests bring the total
number of suspects held in

connection with the case to 30.

The group, led by a 55-year-old
Pakistani citizen, allegedly used

encrypted messaging platforms to
issue violent directives and glorify

attacks in Europe and Pakistan.

The suspects face charges related
to terrorist financing, recruitment,

and aiding and abetting extremism."

"Syria

Three members of the Ministry
of Defence were shot dead by

unknown assailants in Deir Ezzor.

The incidents occurred at three
different checkpoints in the region.

Separately, a person accused of
recruiting for the former regime's

National Defence militia and financially
exploiting civilians was arrested by

the General Security in Deir Ezzor."

"Syria

Gunmen from ISIS cells fired an RPG
shell at a house owned by a thyme

store owner who refused to pay
zakat (charitable giving) in Abriha.

The attack caused material
damage but no casualties.

Another RPG shell was fired at an SDF
checkpoint between Zaiban and Al-Tayana

Towns, but no casualties were reported."

"Thailand

On Saturday night, a group of
black-clad insurgents wreaked havoc

in the border city of Sungai Kolok.

They threw bombs and opened fire at the
district office, killing two defense

volunteers and injuring 11 others.

The insurgents also detonated explosives
beside a railway track and outside a mall.

Additionally, a security patrol was
attacked in the adjoining Pattani

province, resulting in the death of one
ranger and wounding two local officials."

"United States

An armed man from Indiana was shot
by US Secret Service agents near

the White House early this morning.

The shooting occurred around midnight,
about a block away from the White

House, and no one else was injured.

The man was hospitalized,
but his condition is unknown.

The Metropolitan Police Department
will investigate the incident, which

involved law enforcement officers.

US President Donald Trump was in
Florida at the time of the shooting."

"Gaza Strip

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF)
confirmed an airstrike in the northern

Gaza Strip earlier this morning,
targeting a group of terror operatives

attempting to plant a bomb near troops.

The strike, carried out by an Israeli
Air Force drone, resulted in the reported

deaths of two individuals in Gaza
City's eastern Shejaiya neighborhood."

"Myanmar

Last Thursday, March 6, Arakan
Army (AA) rebels clashed with junta

forces in Kyaukphyu Township while
attacking the naval base in the town.

The junta has deployed additional
troops in Kyaukphyu and Manaung,

and naval ships have been
spotted around the town's beach."

"Myanmar

Last Tuesday, March 4, the Chaung U
People’s Defense Force (CPDF) forces

ambushed two junta armored vehicles
along the Chaung U-Myinmu road in

Sagaing Region, resulting in the
deaths of 17 soldiers, including an

officer, and the seizure of 12 firearms.

In retaliation, junta forces fired
artillery rounds from Chaung U

town and conducted airstrikes
using powered parachutes.

Military bases in Chaung U
also launched 120-mm artillery

shelling to support the convoy.

The CPDF seized a cache of weapons,
including four MA 1 rifles, one MA 3,

three MA 11 rifles, one G 3 rifle, one
G 1 rifle, and one 60-mm mortar, along

with 22 boxes of various ammunition.

Furthermore, two armored vehicles were
rendered inoperable and destroyed."

"Russia

Drones attacked Russia's Rostov
region, specifically the village

of Ryazhenoe near Taganrog.

A private house caught fire due to drone
debris during an air defense effort."

"Somalia

A senior Al-Shabaab leader, Yusuf
Dhegnaas, was killed in a targeted

airstrike in Somalia on March 5.

The airstrike, carried out by
Somali forces with international

support, is part of ongoing efforts
to weaken the militant group."

"Syria

The outbreak of violence in coastal
Syria has resulted in over 1,000 deaths,

with the majority being civilians.

The clashes between Syrian security
forces and loyalists of ousted President

Bashar Assad, as well as revenge
killings that followed, have made it

one of the deadliest acts of violence
since the conflict began 14 years ago."

"Syria

Israeli forces have stormed Jamaleh Town
in western Daraa countryside, leading

to a state of mobilization in the area.

Mosques in Tafs City are calling for
mobilization, and fighters are gathering

in preparation for potential escalations.

Other areas in the western Daraa
countryside are also witnessing a

state of mobilization in response
to Israeli military movements."

"Syria

Turkish fighter jets have continued
shelling areas in northern Syria,

including Malha Village and the vicinity
of Qorah Qozak Bridge and Teshrin Dam.

Despite airstrikes and armed clashes, no
casualties have been reported so far."

"Taiwan

Taiwan tracked nine Chinese military
aircraft, seven naval vessels, and two

balloons around its country between 6 a.m.

on Saturday and Sunday.

Three of the aircraft crossed the
median line of the Taiwan Strait,

and seven entered the country’s
northern and southeastern Air

Defense Identification Zone."

"Ukraine

Russian troops carried out an airstrike
on Druzhkivka, Donetsk region, injuring

12 people, including a 15-year-old girl.

The victims suffered mine-blast injuries
and cut wounds after three high-precision

glider bombs hit residential areas."

"Ukraine

Four Russian drones attacked
a meat processing plant in

Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv region, Ukraine.

The attack caused a large-scale fire that
engulfed an area of 2000 square meters.

56 rescuers and 13 units of equipment
responded to the scene, and the

fire was extinguished by 20:40.

Unfortunately, the charred bodies
of three men who worked at the

plant were found at the site."

"Ukraine

Ukrainian forces claimed to have
killed or wounded 1,180 Russian

soldiers over the past day.

Over 400 pieces of military equipment
were damaged in the fighting."

"Ukraine

On March 8, a Russian drone dropped an
incendiary mixture on civilian houses

in the village of Hirsk, Chernihiv
region, killing a local resident.

The attack also damaged two houses
and outbuildings, as well as a

production facility in the area."

"Ukraine

An 18-year-old boy was injured
in a drone strike by Russian

forces in Kherson, Ukraine.

He sustained mine-blast trauma
and shrapnel wounds and was

hospitalized for medical assistance."

"Ukraine

A Russian drone attack occurred in the
Poltava region, damaging or destroying

two outbuildings in Lubny district.

Fortunately, there were
no casualties reported."

"Ukraine

On Saturday, March 8, Russian troops
launched a total of 119 Shahed-type

attack drones and imitation drones
at Ukraine from various directions.

The Ukrainian defense forces successfully
repelled the attack, downing 73 drones and

37 imitation drones without causing harm.

The attack affected multiple regions,
including Donetsk, Kharkiv, Poltava,

Cherkasy, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia, with
damage reported in the Kyiv region."

"Ukraine

Russian troops launched a drone strike
in the village of Ivashky, Kharkiv

region, resulting in the deaths of
two civilians, a male and a female.

A third person, a man, was seriously
injured and taken to the hospital."

"Ukraine

A recent attack by Russian drones
in the Kyiv region damaged two

districts: Brovary and Buchansky.

According to the acting head of
the regional state administration,

Mykola Kalashnyk, air defense forces
successfully shot down most of the

drones, preventing any casualties
or damage to critical infrastructure

buildings in Brovary, but three cars
were damaged in the Buchansky district."

"Ukraine

Russian troops have been shelling
the Donetsk region, resulting

in the deaths of 2 residents and
injuries to 23 others on March 8."

"Ukraine

Russian drones (Shahed UAVs) attacked a
two-story lyceum building in Balakliia,

causing a fire and significant damage to
the roof, window glazing, and ceiling."

"Ukraine

Russian drones have damaged an
enterprise in the Cherkasy region.

Fortunately, no injuries or
property damage have been reported.

The Air Defense successfully destroyed 9
Russian drones within the region, and the

situation is under constant monitoring."

"Ukraine

Russian troops fired artillery,
mortars, and drones in the Kherson

region, injuring eight people.

The victims include five women and three
men, with one person in serious condition.

The attack damaged private and apartment
buildings, warehouses, and vehicles."

"Ukraine

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the
Nikopol district was shelled by

the Russians, injuring two people,
including an 18-year-old girl.

The aggressor used artillery and kamikaze
drones, causing damage to infrastructure,

businesses, and private properties."

"Ukraine

Russian troops have fired at settlements
in Sumy region 16 times, causing damage

to houses and non-residential premises.

The attacks resulted in 44 explosions,
affecting multiple communities."

"Greece

Police in Athens detained 61
people, with seven arrested,

during clashes outside Parliament.

The riots erupted after a
rally in Syntagma Square, with

a group of masked individuals
hurling objects at police lines.

The police repelled the attackers
and conducted a circular operation

to detain additional rioters.

Incidents also occurred in
Thessaloniki, resulting in the

detention of about 30 people."

"South Korea

A massive demonstration on Sunday in
Seoul has further inflamed tensions

between those calling for President Yoon's
immediate removal and those supporting

the impeached South Korean leader.

A coalition of 1,700 progressive
civil society groups gathered outside

Gyeongbokgung Palace and held a press
conference at noon after staging an

overnight protest at the same location.

The coalition declared a ""state of
emergency"" and vowed ""all-out war""

until Yoon is fully removed from office.

The campaign started with a large-scale
protest on Sunday afternoon, drawing

an estimated 100,000 participants.

Yoon's supporters gathered in
front of the presidential building

in Hanam-dong, demanding lifting
Yoon's impeachment status."

"Israel

A bus overturned on Israel's Route 40
highway near Kiryat Gat, resulting in

at least 17 injuries and one fatality.

The Magen David Adom emergency
service declared a man's death

at the scene and provided medical
treatment to those injured."

"Kenya

On Saturday, a gold mine collapse in
the village of Kambi Daraya, Sigor,

West Pokot, resulted in the deaths of
two women and injuries to four others."

"South Sudan

A gold exploration accident in Raja
County, Western Bahr el Ghazal State,

South Sudan, resulted in the deaths of
at least four people, with one injured.

The incident occurred when a
group of workers, approximately 15

meters underground, were trapped
by a sudden influx of water,

causing them to lose oxygen.

The survivor was taken to hospital for
treatment, while the bodies of the others

were transported to Wau town for burial."

"Syria

Two men died in a landmine explosion in
Al-Kawm Town, eastern Homs countryside.

Three children died in a landmine
explosion in Kafr Nubl Town,

southern Idlib countryside."

"Syria

Two civilians were killed in Syria due
to landmine explosions in the villages

of Jurajis (Hama) and Al-Koum (Homs).

The incidents highlight the ongoing
threat to civilians from war remnants."
